OK. Tonight I looked at my friend's 2001 Maxima front blinker plugs. They are 1157's which are also dual filament like the 7443's I mentioned. They have 3 wires so the 7443's probably do also. I would do this mod but I think I'm replacing my front blinkers with LED bulbs. Good luck for whoever tries it though. If you guys dont know where to get the plugs, I know someone from www.autolites.net that can get them. If anyone needs help, ask me.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am not sure how to spilce the wires together. Which wire from the 7443 plug do i splice with the parking light? Can i just choose anyone or is there a certain wire. please help thanks

You bought the plug already? Where and how much? As for your question, yes there is a certain wire you have to splice. This is what you do. I assume you dont have the new plugs wired on the car yet right? Can you tell which wire is the ground? If not tell me the wire colors and I'll see if I know. If you do know which is ground, then just plug a 7443 bulb into the plug, get a 9 volt battery, hook the ground wire to the minus on the battery and any other of the two wires to the plus. The bulb should be bright with one wire and dim with another. You need to use the wire which makes the bulb bright to your blinker wire and the dim wire to the parking light. I hope I didnt confuse you but if I did, then ask me again.

What?! Your factory plug has 3 wires? Look inside the factory bulb and see how many filaments there are. 1 or 2?

If there are 3 then use a test light and put on your blinker and test the 2 power wires. You might have to wrap one in tape along the wire and just make it sit there. I'm gonna look at mine today.

OK, bro, listen. I looked at my factory 7440 plug just now and there is only 2 wires. What plug are you looking at that has 3? The 7443 plug? The 7443 is supposed to have 3 wires. One goes to your blinker wire, another is ground, and the other goes to your parking light wire. Simple as that.

I ended up buying one harness because i could only find 1 7443 plug...thanks for waling me throught the steps.........i'll let you know if i get anymore problems. by the way i can only make one side constant for now because the factory plug does not come in till this coming sat.

Hmm, thats weird. I just looked at mine a few hours ago. The parking light plug has 2 wires and the blinker also has 2. Well test (with a test light) the 2 green wires and see if they do the same thing. Maybe 1 is for hazards and the other for blinkers. Let me know. I dont see why the parking light has 2 wires. Test those also.

Sorry I haven’t been able to respond earlier. I’ve been really busy putting projectors in my headlights. Anyway, the 7443 plug is smaller? Are you sure you have a 7443 plug? Your factory bulb should fit in there perfectly. Try it and see if it does. When I tried my blinker in my friends car with 1157 bulbs, they almost fit perfectly. The diameter of the plug base is the same. The only thing you would have to do is make another notch on the blinker base where the bulb goes in. As for the extra wires you have in your car, are you sure you’re looking at the blinker plug? You need to look at the wires coming immediately out of the plug. I looked at mine again. The blinkers AND the parking light bulbs have 2 wires each. Anyway, why would your parking lights need 4 wires? That makes no sense. Sorry I don’t have a wiring diagram. Did you test the wires with a test light and see what’s power and what not?
