Anyone black out the chrome around the windows ?

I was wondering if anyone considered blacking out the chrome around the windows ? I'm not sure if this is possible the chrome is just plastic from what i can tell but wonder how much work it would involve and how it would be possible.

I wanted to see what the difrence would be so i quickly put electric tape over it and it really makes the car look a bit more modern, sounds odd but try it LOL

i've heard that they don't clean anything before they paint. if you a dirty car and want it painted....they just do it. if it's not ready.....you get what you pay for. that's for big jobs. maybe for smaller stuff they do ok?

When I used to have a truck I had it painted at Maaco. In my opinion, as long as you don't get the cheapest paintjob they have, you might be pleasantly surprised. I paid about $900, but got a complete color change going from two tone light blue and white on top, to dark purplish blue metallic. I also had about 20 or so dings that were all completely fixed, as well as one massive dent square in the front middle of the hood. I think that they did a freaking awesome job for the money. Here are some pics of the truck, see for yourself.

it actually wasn't a package or special at all, I just went in and told them what I wanted, they gave me the price, I bickered, than I paid. Picked it up a week later.

I don't think the Chrome looks bad at all, but if you Black it out it gives the car a bit more of a sporty or clean look in my opinion.

To me good car design is about lines when you black out the chrome you pay closer atention to the cars lines. I have a jaguar and the chrome on it sets it off but the tl can be a pretty sporty luxury car with the right rim,s rotors, calipers, tint etc.

As far as Macco goes im guessing it just depends on how good of job the guy's there want to do on it. I have heard good and bad things about them but the one thing i have always heard regardless is to do the pre work yourself.
