Amp install - firewall
Amp install - firewall
Maybe old news but.
I've drill a whole through the firewall (in the absence of a pass through hole) on many cars. Well whatever you do do not drill anyway near the pedals. I saw a hole from the engine side and tried to eyeball it - bad mistake.
Messed up a drilled a hole in the brake power booster.
neddless to say this is a major part of the braking system.
I have no brakes at all. Took it to Acura on Firday and it should be ready Tuesday. Grand total 839.39.
If you gotta drill.... drill below the hood latch wire.
Please dont make this stupid costly mistake.
I coulda bought a set of rims!
I feel like such an idiot.

[sp]GROMET!!![sp]
For any cable that needs to come from the engine compartment that doesn't have fluid in it should go through the gromets in the firewall...
Basicly... its a rubber/plastic thing that creats a seal for the stock wires to go through... just punch a hole through the rubber/plastic "gromet" and you have access to the interior of the car through there...
For the 2.5 TL... i'm sure there is one by the battery... Top Left side of Engine...
for the 3.2
Ken???
Sorry to hear of the mistake... but...
DIY is always like that... i messed up my gauges when i tried installing my Reverse Glow Gauges... Shit happens i guess... Hope everything can get fixed...

Got the car back today.
Brakes work, but I can hear something that sounds like air escaping. I lifted the hood and it seems to be coming from somewhere around the master cylinder. Also, brakes make a burping sounds when depressed, and they feel real soft.
I'll call Acura tomorrow and set up a time to bring it back.
Take it easy.
So glad this is over!
