Well, I got a new universal 4" muffler the other day. My old mechanic really f-ed up my exhaust pipe and stuff, so I paid a little more than I wanted. I took it to Midas; the people there were really nice. The guy took me out to my car and showed me what he was going to do, and did everything I asked him to. 40 minutes and $156.56 later, the job was done. He really did a good job on the installation. He basically installed a new pipe (from close the cat to the muffler) and it looks very clean. I am 100% satisfied with the job. Better yet, with the silencer in, it is *almost* quiet. I say almost b/c there is like the slightest hum. Barely, *barely* noticable unless you are trying to hear it. Whoowee, I can hear my engine roar now!

you went to Midas and it was only $150? I had them install a new muffler last year and now there is a hole in the intermediate pipe (between the cat and the muffler). They tried to tell me it's another $289 for that pipe installed. The muffler is already starting to get rusted too so I asked if that can be replaced since it has a lifetime warranty. He said they still have to charge me for installing the muffler. So basically my muffler that I paid $200 for last year is only worth about $90 now...so to replace the pipe and muffler it's gonna be over $450 (without the tips on the muffler).....I said kiss my a**.....so I am going to take it to my cousins shop and have him replace it with a better muffler with rust proof coating and tips all for a little less than $400.....is that still too much??

I don't recommend Midas to anyone....

Do you have an aftermaket exhaust? That's cool it's quiet for you know. I won't get an exhaust for my TL. I like the quiet ride. My Accord is plenty loud.

derrick25: I usually dont trust these places, but anyone could've done better than my mechanic. He put on a new pipe and put this black rustproof coating on it, so it won't rust out like my last ghetto job. And yeah, I think the hangers have a 90 day warranty and the pipe has a one year warranty.

Also, I went to Meineke, not Midas. Sorry...I always get them mixed up. Also, all of those shops are privately owned so each price is gonna be unique to each shop.
