Acura Care

To all who know about Acura Care, speak up!

Is it worth it? Add 50K or 3 years coverage?

Do they cover basically everything in the Acura 50K and 4 year Warranty? At least they have represented that.

I am about to lose my factory warranty and would like to hear from ya'll!

Thanks.

I bought the extended 100k 7 Year warranty just for better piece of mind should my motor die or tranny fail. So far nothing has happened to the car "knock on wood" but it gives me a better piece of mind knowing the car is covered, especially if you were to sell it the warranty is transferrable so you can offer that to prosepctive customer, which not many other private sellers could offer.
Its comming close to the expiration of my 7 year 100k warranty and the car hasnt given me trouble but I didnt worry for those 7 years when i had the car, cause an engine or transmission replacement can be very costly.

Hope this helps in your decision.

Acura Care

Thanks a bunch Bobby.

How much did you pay for it?

Did you get the zero deductible?

I feel that you are treated differently if you have Acura care versus a Third Party Warranty carrier. They tend to do what's right if Acura will pay them, should I say, whoever runs it for them.

Thanks, again.

The waranty cost me$900 thru Acura and it is a zero dectuable for motor and drive train. It is not a bumper to bumper warranty but the most expensive repairs are usually the motor and tranny. As long as I keep maintaining the car thru Acura at its normally scheduled intervals it is in Acura's database so they shouldn't give me any quams about anything should something fail on the car. Well like I said the car has not given me any problems "Knock on wood" and the warranty is comming to a close (my car is 96'). So if you think its worth it for a better piece of mind then I say go for it, just in case something should go wrong. I have had a few Honda's with NO PROBLEMS, but I just dont want to take a chance. So if you dont mind shelling out $900 for a better sense of security where your car is concerned then I say go for it, cause that is the reason why I did it.

Hope this helps you out on your decision.

i read somewhere on this board that our 7/100k warranties were upped to 125k. i have my warranty through travelers insurance. the most extensive repair to date has been a blown radiator. would have cost me $900, but warranty covered and i paid a measly $50. the work had to be done at Acura, though.

Nobody mentioned that if you don't use the coverage then you get your money back. The best part of the deal.

Acura care

Thanks guys.

1. Acura wants $1600 for it.
2. Is there another 3rd party company comparable to Acura Care?
Where can I check up Travelers?
3. Where can I confirm, "no use, get refund!" deal?

Thanks again!

I think Acura Care and Honda Care are covered by Travelers, a Citibank company.

I have mine thru Acura directly and I dont think they give a refund if I dont use it.
Does Acura extend your warranty to 125k
My car is a 96' with 66k on the odometer and my 7 year 100k warranty expires on Sept of 2002.
So if I can extend it to 125k how many additional years is that?
Thanks in advance.

if you have your ext. warranty through Acura then you may already be under Travelers. you could check with the dealer that sold you your ride.

if you drive a 1000 miles a month, then 25k should be another 2 or so years....

Can you submit evidence that Acura extended the warranty to 125K?

Can somebody post that?

Thanks
