ABS light

When starting, a noise begins, sounds like eehhhh...eehhh. After about two minutes sound stops and ABS light comes on. I know this sound is the ABS failing. Can this sound cause other problems with the car?

had the exact same problem. No, it wont affect other functions of the car. Replace the abs modualtor/accumulator unit, and everything should be O.K. Those units are quite costly at dealerships so try to find one at a junkyard or on ebay like I did.

Thanks for the advice vishnus. I'll look into the modulator but If that sound has no affect on other functions of the car I'll probably leave it.

Same thing happened to my car. If you fill it up with brake fluid the light will shut off but once it drains out, bingo, light back on again. I believe the unit is about $2000 brand new. My ABS light is still on. I think its been about 3-1/2 years now. LoL.

You can get it for a TENTH of that if you look around junkyards.

Even www.acuraautomotiveparts.org has it for under $900

Link

$810 @ Sunnyside Acura

Keep in mind, thats for a NEW one with a 3 year warranty.

very true. Got mine for $55 on EBAY!!! Came off a 96 integra. Mounted right in the stock location. The abs lines dont quite match up hwoever, but i just kinda winged it.

Make sure you bleed the ABS and brakes when u replace the modulator/accumulator thing
