I've heard that some aftermarket 6 1/2" speakers will NOT fit in 2.5's (doors). Supposedly the speakers are too deep. Does anyone have any experience or advice with this?

I put 6.5" JBL's in the doors of my 2.5 and they fit fine

the guy who was GOING to install said 6 1/2 won't fit, but it does fit, just make sure your speakers aren't too deep.
I have 6 1/2 diamond M561's and I had my tweeters put near the dome light and it sounds awesome

as i was told.....6.5 will not fit into our doors without buying those plastic ring adaptors.

tre, i want to get S600 diamond components.. i know you have the m561's but i was just wondering how the sound quality is. is it crystal clear? how does the 6.5 thump? is it a hard hitting thump? as for the tweeters near your dome, you placed your diamond tweeters in the same place where the factory tweeters were at in the dome?? they fit perfectly? or did you have to make modifications? i also want to hide my tweeters up there but im scared it wont fit. im also scared it will kill my ears if its up there..

I fit my Boston Pro 6 1/2's in my doors fine. I just used the factory basket, modified it with a dremel tool.

Yup. Do that or get MDF speaker rings.

you can take the entire plastic thing out and any speaker will fit

wasnt there a guy here who replaced his dome light tweeters and felt like his ears were gonna bleed everytime he got out of the car?
