1/4 mile time for 1st gen TL

I just wanted to know how fast everyone does the 1/4 mile, because I search the internet to see how fast the 3.2TL does the 1/4 mile stock and I found out that it when 16.4!!!!
Now to me that's freakin slow, have any of you guys ran the 1/4 mile faster than that and I'm talking with no mods just all stock.

P.S. I found out that the 3.2TL ran 16.4 from this site http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html and I know that those stats are guide lines only. Also I search the fourm and didn't find any topic on first gen doing the 1/4 mile (just didn't want to get ).

Before mods it was 16.1 for me.

Now with some mods (Type II engine, Bayou chip and an intake) I'm around 14.8

Where did you get those mods and can you show pics of them??? Cause that would be nice runing the 1/4 miles in 14's.

I got the engine heads from a '94 Legend GS

The Intake I made myself and the Bayou chip was meant for an Acura Legend.

Next project is a 5 or 6 speed manual swap.

Ken,
If you don't have the legend heads will you still see performance gains from the bayou chip?

Yes. Order one meant for a Legend Type I engine. It is the SAME engine as what the 1st generation TL has.

Got mine from a guy I know off of eBay.

Check out Acura-legend.org and its forums. They have a For Sale section where you can find out more. I've seen a few people sell theirs.

Make sure you get the chips meant for Type I automatics otherwise it wont work. (Unless of course you've done a Type II swap and/or a manual transmission).

How does this chip work? And is it bad for the engine in the long run?

Its a reprogrammed ECU, different fuel and air maps. Since the C32 engine has butterfly valves controlling the intake and exhaust, you can tweak the timing for those a bit.

for some reason i am not into juicin up the TL. i like how quiet and smooth it is with its nice pick up. to me its a luxury car and doesnt need to be fast. thats why i am building my race car on the side. then i have the best of both worlds

maybe its just me but i wiould never put a ricer canister muffler on my ride, i like how quiet it is.

Yeah, I'm not going to change my exhaust. Its VERY quiet with a steady throttle and its only loud if I really push it. Best of both worlds for me

This sounds very worthy of doing...but is it worth it for the 300 bucks? If I even gained 10 more HP, always worth it...I'll never have a ricer, but more power is never a bad thing. especially when you think of how much the new TL's have.
