windshield repair - DIY or Pro?

i have a couple nasty rock chips in my windshield.

Would you guys recommend DIY or having it done with a Pro?

If i do go DIY, what kit do you guys recommend?

I used a kit once on one of my Accords. The chip never got bigger, but never really looked right. I used a permatex I think.

Your insurance wont cover it? Here in FL insurance pays for cracked winshields or chip repair.
