Does anyone have insight into why Honda made a number of changes in the last model year? It seems strange considering the platform change was only a year away.

Perhaps RL sales were slowing down so much that it had to do this refresh.

I counted new

- gauges
- dash/center panel to accommodate standard NAVI w/voice
- stereo system - from 8 to 10 speakers
- power driver's seat lumbar
- steering wheel
- shifter and shift gate
- XM radio
- in-dash CD holder
- power doorlock buttons
- wood trim

Anything else?

 

A minor change to be sure, but the tail lights on the later versions were clear in the turn signal section instead of yellow/orange in the '99-'02 or 03 models.

 

'03 and '04 had the same clear turn signal design.

 

Hmm the sunglass holder in the previous models is gone too. My 04 does not have a sunglass holder, while my 01 does.. It's probably because the onstar thing is in that place.

Bose sound system in the 01 seems like it hits stronger than my 04.

I think the sway bars were bigger on 04's too.

I'll compare sometime for specifics.

 

You all think it's possible to install the 04 sound system into an 02 RL? Just curious about it because obviously i hate having the CD player in the trunk like you all.

 

the suspension was tweaked as well towards sport.........
