What brand brake pads should i get?
So its time to change my brake pads. (They are getting noisy)
I have the stock OEM brake setup, what pads do you recommend. Im running 18x8.5s right now if that helps narrow down some choices.
Let me know what you guys think and the price!
Im planning on just getting the fronts unless i can get both front and rear for a good price, planning on doing the install myself as well. Worse comes to worse i'll just buy the OEM front brake pads from the acura dealer.
Also, will pads from the TL/CL or G2 Legend fit as well?
THX!

I personally do not like PBR. They stop well but dust is crazy.
I use to buy AEM all the time before they got out of the brake pad game. I think you might be able to find them under the Nissin brand. The higher quality ones.
If you dont do any tracking or race from stop sign to stop sign on a constant basis i say stick with Acura.

If you want you can try the Duralast Cmax "Gold" pads from Autozone. These are good ceramic pads (low dust, quiete) and come with rubber backed shims like OEM (no squeal) and have lifetime warranty to boot. However make sure that you do not get the CMax (w/o gold) as those will give a good deal of squeal due to metallic shims. IIRC the fronts will be about $90 and rear about $65. I may be way off on the price so don't quote me on that. However every now and then you get promotional pricings from Autozone so check those before you headover.

Acura OEM brake pads are pretty damn good. I just had a local Acura dealer do a front and rear brake job along with flushing and replacing the the brake fluid on my 2000RL at 90k miles. Front brakes were done previously at 45k miles and rear pads were the original pads and still had about 50% wear left . I did have to have a sticking rear caliper replaced though.

Jimmay,
Did you reuse the OE shim or use the mettalic shims that came with the CMAX brake pad.
Liberal application of grease will definitely address the squeal. However I felt the Gold ones were more OE like. Both CMAX & CMAX Gold pads are Ceramic so compared to OE both will be an improvement with respect to brake dust and stopping.
