Trade in Value X$#D!
Okay, I deserve it. I used to laugh at all the second gens losing so much value on RLs. I bought my 49,000$ MSRP 2004 with 40K miles for 22,000$. I purchased my car when it was 13 months old and thought it does not get better than this. Toyota got me in on a promo, free oil change for an appraisal. My new looking RL with 63K miles was valued at 15,000$ I plan on keeping my RL for the long haul, but I can't get over my super lux car is almost within the budget of the paper boy. URGH!!

Thats why those '04 RL's are screaming for me to take one home
I just bought a spotless 2004 with 29000 miles for $22000 with 3 years of prepaid XM radio. I bougt it to keep it for a long time so I am not too concerned about value but the drop in value can be frustrating. i would not go as far as saying an RL is a "Super Luxury Car". There nice but they are no Bentley
I just got spoiled by my accord. I drove a V6 Coupe for three years, and pretty much got my money back out of it when I traded. It feels good to know that if I want to trade in, just for being bored I can. With my RL, I feel locked into her since I am not willing to take a $7000 hit for one year of ownership. The guy who took the $27000 hit on my car after the first year has a lot more to complain about then I do. I make it a habit of buying under rated cars for less than half the MSRP a year old. I just misjudged the floor on this one.

Congrats on your purchase, my trade in price was discounted $4000 due to my high miles. I think you got a deal. Curry Honda (find him online) heavily discounts the factory warranty. So far I have not had to use it, but he got me a 120,000 mile Honda plan for about a grand less then my local dealer. I pulled the service records on my 04, and so far, no repairs in 63K miles. If you want your RL to feel like a Bently, just bring it into the shop every two weeks. Live the dream.
You did get a deal on that 04 RL. I bought my 2002 RL fully loaded with 34000 miles about a year ago for $24,000. I overpaid slightly, but for me, it was a single owner situation, and I had all the service records and history of the used car. That was worth something monetary to me. I just got off with a terrible experience with Carmax that forced me to return my purchase to them... never buy Carmax.
Good luck with the RL!
