Swapping in TL-S instrument cluster?

I recently rode shotgun in a 99-03 type S and had the idea of switching in the gauge cluster from these cars into the RL. I've been thinking about changing the backlight color on the RL for a long time but I figured this would look nice, although more expensive.

I have no clue what the hookups are like in the back, is it even possible? There's the problem of the TL having 5 speeds but I don't know how the shifter selector and light in the dash communicate. maybe it could just be set to skip over. It looks like there might be a connection for each individual shift light so it would just jump straight to D4.

Didn't realize the S was only 02 and 03, just correcting my mistake there.

You would have to be super experienced and immortal to tackle a job like that. I did the LEDs and they look great! I'll post a picture in a couple minutes.

K, here's a picture. But trust me, it looks waaaaay better in person. Much more "acura-ish".

Okay, that's good to know...

Thanks for posting the picture. Did you do this recently? What kind of bulbs are needed for the swap? The thread that is dedicated to this is kind of outdated and has mostly dead links. I can just buy them off ebay.

Actually the thread is not outdated and the ebay seller is still active. I bought my LEDs about 6 months ago. But, read the whole thread and follow the instructions step by step, or you may cost yourself a few hundred bucks. The screws have to go in EXACTLY the right spots and do not over tighten them or else you will break off the metal conductor inside. And lastly, the LEDs fit pretty well, but not perfectly, so take an o-ring puller or a small pick and bend the inward on the x and y axis. Good luck!
