Stuck intermediate shaft!

Hi everyone, I have a 2000 RL and I need to replace the oil pan gasket. I have everything off except the differential. I'm trying to pull back the shaft to remove the differential but it won't budget.
I have the "special" Acura tool and have read everything on the internet over the last week but I have not move it at all. Please someone help! I also have the FSM and followed everything. I don't know what to do. I've really tried before bothering anyone.
Thank you for your time
Ed

Is #16 below what you are trying to remove?
If so, what is the procedure the FSM lays out in removing the part in question?

thank you for your time, im trying to slide back the differential shaft so i can remove the front differential to remove the engine on pan. Most people use a large washer and a pry bar. I've done all that and even ordered the "special" acura tool part number 07LAC-PW50101.
Some people say they just pull it outwith thier fingers. I've tried a slide hammer, a full can of pb blaster. I have not moved it!

This is all I can find that shows utilization of the special acura tool 07LAC-PW50101?
It states to 'shift the transmission into the P position to lock the secondary gear.'

It looks like that special tool is the key to success??

@Blueking22 If you are still working on this problem you may want to contact fellow member @1186KA9 who did this job back in Mar/24 and can/may provide more insights/tips to help.

Hey. In short, you wanna try to remove the shaft using the tool. You can tighten with a bit of force, but be careful. I broke mine in the ext, shaft. If it feels like you are using too much force, you can put the trans in neutral and rotate the front passenger cv axle/wheel about 20 degrees to try and get the snap ring into position. It is actually somewhat similar to replacing a cv axle concept-wise. Oh, and I wouldn't use PB-Blaster or any other penetrating fluids since it would likely go into the transmission case and the fluid. In fact, I suggest you change the trans fluid before you even start the vehicle again and do a 3x3 flush within 35 miles of putting her back on the road. Penetrating fluid and transmission clutches do not mix well.
