Starting issue..need help

Ive been having an issue when the car starts..
Sometimes when i turn the key the dash lights go on like normal,
right when I turn the ignition to start the car goes dead and i hear a faint click or tick sound.

So what ive been doing is disconnecting both battery terminals and reconnecting and this seems to remedy the issue and the car starts. Sometimes i have to disconnect and reconnect a few times over and over becuase the car wont start the first time i reconnect the terminals. I cant figure out what the problem is.. Any help?? Thanks.

Fairly new. Just put it in not too long ago. I was told to clean off the terminals and that should do it, but the terminals don't look dirt at all other than the positive having alittle dried acid.

Maybe give yourself some more time between putting the key in the ignition and then trying to turn it over. There are other threads about doing this too fast and the car can't read the key's chip fast enough to signal all is ok.

Put a volt meter on each terminal of your battery, if you get somewhere around 12v, you know that battery is good.
