Hey guys I currently own a 99 TL and i'm thinking about getting a RL withing the next month or so. I know the TL's have tranny issues and I wanted to know if there are any major issues with the RL and or any recalls on them thanks

 

From my understanding the RL transmission is the same as the rest of the C series V6 engines (Legends and 1st gen TL), very reliable and you just need to do regular transmission fluid changes and flushes.

 

Yes, its identical to the 1st gen 3.2 TL's transmission and very similar to the Legend automatic as well. Very reliable, just do your scheduled maintainence and it'll last for a few hundred thousand miles.

 

TL had a tranny problems???? I think you're thinking of CL's infamous tranny, right?

 

TL, MDX, Pilot, CRV, and Accord were all included in various recalls for the AT

 

All J series V6's with automatics.

The transmissions on that car is great. Like they all said..."regular Maintenance"! I am selling my RL for a Ridgeline if I can swing it financially... It has 95k new t-belt, tires, just had its 90k service at the dealer....
