power steering problems?? help

greetings, i have a 99 rl, when i start my car the wheel will turn fine no noise/vibration, but after driving a bit and coming to a stop when i cut my wheels i get a vibration/rubbing sound...it doesn't seem any harder to turn the wheels it's really only the sound that is worrying me....i'm not the brightest when it comes to car mechanics...

in my opinion it could be anything from the power steering pump/steering gear/pinion valve/ or just a problem with a hose from the ps pump...

just curious if anyone has been down this road before...thanks for any comments..

Check to see if the inner fender liners are rubbing against the tires. These are a heavy rubber that is just inside the tires. They protect the engine from getting wet from the tires. There are 8 - 10 connectors that hold each one into place. If a couple of connectors break, the liner could be hanging where it is being rubbed by a turned wheel.

Other than that, it could be something with the steering/suspension and best handled by a mechanic...

just to clear something up from my original post, i can only hear/feel the sound when the car is idling or moving at a very slow rate of speed (pulling into parking space)....and it's obviously from something heating up, cause as i stated when i first start the car and turn the wheel i hear basically nothing, but after 20 minutes of driving the sound is somewhat loud and obnoxious....thanks again for any comments..

I get that sound with moderate/heavy braking and turning at the same time, which is usually at slow speeds (parking, sharp turns, etc). Might be what your experiencing. Mine's a 97 and it's been like that for as long as I can remember, it's never caused any problems, so I assume it's just the braking and steering mechanisms working at the same time that causes the sound.
