Power Steering Flush

Hi guys, new to the RL scene and have some questions regarding PS flush/change.

I have researched this site reading procedures, tips and comments related to PS systems on these cars. Went to the local Honda dealership today and bought 5 bottles of Honda PS fluid. My car (99' RL w/ 145k) was bought from my Dad who was a stickler on maintenance, but forgot about the PS fluid. The steering just became rough and found the fluid was dark and has almost water like viscosity.

I want to flush the system and wanted to get a recommendation:

1. Use a non-Honda brand flush chemical that could be purchased at an automotive part store? Or...

2. Running an extra bottle of Honda PS fluid through the system during the draining procedures?

I appreciate any comments or feedback! Thank you.
