I've been put in charge of fixing my friends 99 rl that wouldn't pass emissions. I am getting a p1753 torque converter lock up solenoid electrical malfunction code but to be honest i dont know why.

So far I've pulled the solenoid cleaned it, checked the wiring as far as I can follow it, checked the solenoid, and verified it does operate if hooked to a battery. I have even ran a dedicated ground down too it. I've pretty much hit a wall.

I guess next thing i need to do is find where the computer this thing ends up at and check from there. I need to know though does anyone know where i can get the pin out for the computer or know the resistance specs for the solenoid so i can truely rule it out.

 

Sorry never have this problem before. I'll try to look it up in the manual for you.
