OK so i am finally about to replace the tires on my 04 RL. In a previous post I had asked for recommendations as far as brands although the Continentals where highly recommended Imma stick with Goodyear Assure Tripletreads. Now my problem is I know the manufacturer recommends tire size 225/55/16 but for some odd reason tripletreds in size 225 55 16 are coming up as not compatible for my car. I know they should fit i currently have tripletreds sized 225 60 16 on my car and i started to get the 225 55 16 back then but I got an offer I could refuse on the 225 60 16's. I should be coll with the 225 55 16's right?

They no longer build the trippletred in a 225/55r16. I am confused about the question that you posted. Since the stock size is 225/55r16, yes they will fit the car. 225/60r16 will also fit, however it will be a slightly taller tire.

It should be noted that I know where a set of used take off Michelins, 225/55r26 Pilot HXMXM4, that are like new, 8 and 9/32'nds that you could get your hands on also.

Thanks for the reply my situation is this I currently have tripletreds on my car size 225 60 16. I need to replace the tires I had forgotten what size tires came on my vehicle I kinda figured the size was 225 55 16 so I used an online website to see but it keep showing the 225 55 16 tripletreds as not being compatible with my vehicle. I know that goodyear no longer makes tripletreds in my size. The tires I found are unused back stock. Thanks for the offer on the Michelins but Imma ride w/ these Goodyears..

 

If you have a copy of the owners manual, you will see the tire size for your vehicle. Mine is 99RL and the size from the owners manual is P215 60R 16 94V.
