New RL Owner

Good morning everyone. I recently purchased a 96 RL from my father-in-law. He's had it for a couple of years and has taken very good care of it. I went with him to pick it up from the individual that had bought it new when he purchased it. The original owner had EVERY receipt ever known with the car. It has 179K mikes on it now, but I feel comfortable with the car knowing it's history. This car is immaculate. There isn't even so much as a wrinkle in the driver's leather seat. Also, I couldn't turn the price down. He practically gave it to me.

Are there any recommendations or concerns that you all may have for me? This is kind of new to me because I'm not too familiar with foreign cars. I've always had Chevrolets and such. So, any advice would be very welcomed.

Thank you all in advance. I really appreciate it.
Cory

Congratulations - you'll probably never own another Chevrolet again.

Put gas in it, change the oil and drive it

I bought a Vigor about a year ago that snapped a timing belt and I had thought to try and fix it, but I'm just a little nervous about it. It had been sitting for a while and I was afraid of dumping the money into it and finding something else was wrong with it. So, this leads me to this RL.

So far I am tickled with this thing. Any info you all can give me...go for it.

Thanks again.

Great cars. If the RL seems like too much of a boat, you can get 2002-2004 RL springs and shocks, they're biased for a smooth and slightly firm freeway ride. Far less body roll than earlier years.

Welcome to the club.

That's good information. Does this setup lower the car down any, hence the firm ride? Where could I find this setup?

Thank you.

I don't think it's going to lower the car down at all. Just going to change the driving experience a little bit. Make it less boaty.
