Well.. depends on how much money you're willing to spend..

If you're mechanically inclined.. you can take the top end of a C32A5 motor (Legend Type II motor) and put it on your engine block and get around 270 hp and 260 foot pounds of torque.

dang, that much?!

im sure that kinda power would have A+ torque steer, or is the first gen RL more than capable of dealing with this?

Torque steer isnt too bad

DV8 on the Acura Legend board has done this mod (and put in a 6 speed manual) it MOVES!

Is the 4 speed auto from 1st gen TL/RL capable of handling this kinda power? Like u said, DV8 had a 6sp, but I wasn't sure about the manual. I remember a guy who used to be on here (TLXRacer) said that he ran NOS on his C32 and had the tranny replaced like 3 times? Would this 3.5 "hybrid" put equal stress on the engine?

oh and btw, if i remember clearly back to DV8's original thread, I think he could spin the fronts even in 3rd!

What if I were to do this on the 1st gen 3.2TL?

To the best of my knowledge it would work - I have a 1st gen 3.2 as well, hence my interest in this swap.

Yes it works on the 1st gen TL

As for the tranny, that brings up a GREAT point.. i'd get a stick shift for this kind of power. Or if you must stick to an auto, i'd get a tranny cooler.
