Navigation Problems 99 RL

My 99 RL nav unit has been messing up latley, it will be mid route and will say "offroute recalculating" but then it will just go back to the menu screen and when i try to redo my route or try a different one it says "route not completed" and it wont let me route anything until i turn off the car. Anyone had this problem and/fixed it. If not, anyone know where to get a replacement unit? Not from acura who wants to charge $2500...

I have a 97. Is there a way to update the program? Is there a card available with more memory so I can put more coverage in it? I only have the Northeast US available. My own street isn't on it.
