Navi Isn't Working Question

So some of you may have seen my other thread earlier this summer about how I was getting ready to do some audio work in my car. But if you haven't, I have a 2004 RL with the whole navi and everything. Well I finally got my amp and sub installed in the car and my next project was buying a and getting a new head unit installed. Well I went through that whole process of getting that beast put in over a long day. But my one thing is I had asked a few folks on here if the navi would still retain its abilities to control my A/C since it is where I adjust what vents its blowing through and the power and mode. Well after getting the head unit in, everything worked briliantly, except the navi comes on and shows the whole do not use while driving thing, and gives me the button to hit I agree or whatever, but I cant actually pres the button and then after a min or so it just goes to a black screen but you can tel its still on and all. So I tried some things snd I tried surfing the internet to find an answer, but no luck. Does any one have a solution or idea that they can think of. I could care less about the navi and everything else it controls, but its Arizona here and its hitting those 110+ days and I coulf really use a little more control than just the temperature haha. Thanks

Check the connections at the back of the dvd unit, I believe its located in the the trunk. Check the connections behind the display. If all else fails look into replacing the navigation dvd. I hope this helps.

Yeah i checked everything but I really don't think that's it cause like I said it happened right after I replaced the head unit. So i am guessing it was all just ran through it?

Man I wish I could look behind your dash, I would really be able to make a good asessment and do some troubleshooting. Only thing I can say now is to uninstall your in the same manor you installed it, then go reconnect it but leave the the area open. Check to see if the navi is operational, if it is still acting screwy, began a full wire check meaning fully check every connection. Check if you left anything, unconnected loose, or grounded.

hah yeah thats what I just went out to do and as I was behind there, I noticed I didn't get a harness clipped back in, but at the same I time I realized why, I don't have a place for it. So i'm sure that has to be my problem but I don't think it is fixable

I'm guessing thats the harness that plugs into the stock headunit and gives your navigation system a voice.

yeah thats what I was guessing cause I read some posts that OLD _HATCH said something about that. But Idk when it just all stopped working I though that maybe more than just the voice was ran through it. But if thats what you say Ken then I guess not.
