Hi guys
Last time I posted that my car woudn't start.The same thing happened to me again.
The car seemed to want to start but it just cuts off.All the dash lights come on as normal .
I am suspecting it is the main relay like everyone was saying.
I did order a main relay couple days ago from acura it should be in stock.
Do you guys think it is the main relay?

Hello guys
I fixed my RL today.
After reading all the issues on the main relay.
It surely was a main relay that caused all my problems.
Went to the Acura dealership picked a main relay for $60.
A friend dropped me off I already removed the cover under the steering wheel.
I located the main relay disconnected it & plugged both inputs. Bam started immediately
I attached it with a zip .
I got home got my LED flash light it was easy for me since I have long fingers Voila ! My car is starting right away..But yea it was a bitch to slide it back..
A mechanic told me it could be your alternator..but I trusted this site I went with all you guys recommendations.
I love this site...thank you very much guys really saved me $$ and time ..

Wow, good to know that you fixed car man. I can't remember if my main relay has been changed or not, may be it is a good idea to pick one up.

 

I have read that main relay is a common issue with RL. I have a 99RL. I replaced my main relay a few months ago, even though I don't have any starting issue. Since I wasn't in a hurry, I ordered it on-line and paid less than you did.

 

I saw them on ebay for $50 shipped .I paid exactly $53.74 plus tax.
I was going to buy it no matter what .
To me its worth it and I fixed myself!?oh hell ya!

 

All hondas suffer from the main relay at one pount or another. On the RL its tied into the immobilizer unit so it mkes it worse.

 

I have one on standby. Just in case...

 

where did you get this relay from and what is the part number? thanks man. is it easy to DIY?
