My front lip DIY

My front lip DIY
i decided to make a home depot front lip out of pavement garden edging and here is my process. Cost $40.00
Materials needed -
2 Diamond Lok Pavement edging strips,
Washers
Bolts
Self Locking Nuts
Snips
the reason you need 2 strips is because one isnt enough to wrap around the whole front bumper, so instead i used 2 cut them equal lengths which was about half the distance of the bumper, or the distance from the middle of the bumper to the wheel well...
I cut the strips into 42 Inch segments (although 41.5 is perfect, i decided to leave my self some room, its better to nut cut enough and cut more later, than to cut too much and have to start over again...)
Then i cut the part i planned to join in the middle at an angle to try to match it up as best as i could.
you will also want to cut out the "+" area where the lip will curve with the bumper to the side of the foglight area.
i used masking tape to hold up the lip while i drilled holes in the bumper roughly 6 inches apart.
all thats left to do is bolt the sucker on and trim the extra plastic around the wheel well area
and my finished product!
you might notice a slight gap in the middle, i was in a bit of a rush, so if you take your time you should be able to match it up alot better, if you still have a gap like me you can always use filler and then paint the lip like i plan on doing in the near future...

I just put on an EZ Lip (google it) on my 99 Sentra B14 and I have to say I was skeptical but came out impressed. I bought one for my 01 RL and will post pics of the results. $35 shipped from eBay was worth the risk.

I too might have to steal this design. Great job, better than the alternatives of building your own fiberglass lip or paying $800 for a Garage Answer or Evolution Aero front lip and that is without the shipping from Japan. Great job sir!
