It's time for a Timing Belt change
My 2002 RL has 116k on it and I'm past due for a timing belt. I really don't have a mechanic since the ONLY repair on this car was a burned out brake light..and that's the truth. Regular maintenance, yes. A highly recommended mechanic quoted me $550 labor to replace the following:
timing belt
balance shaft belt
water pump with o-ring
three accessory drive belts-A/C, P/S and altenator
thermostat outlet gasket
upper and lower radiator hoses
I got a price from Acura of Augusta of $360 for those parts. Seemed fare.
My question is should I also change these: (labor won't change)
timing belt tensioner $60
timing belt tensioner spring $3
balance shaft belt tensioner $60
balance shaft belt tensioner spring $3
Also, what about the front crankshaft seal and the two camshaft seals?
The only other part I may replace is the A/C belt tensioner which cost about $35. I know it will eventually go bad, but won't put me down. It'll just start squealing and I can change it myself.
Overall I want to take care of as much as I can afford, but if I did everything listed my cost would be +/-$1100 Ouch! So if I can reasonable save it would be good.
All thoughts/comments will be appreciated. Thanks.

All that is alot of work, so the price point isnt bad. If you could do it yourself youd save alot of money there.
Have the mechanic check the extra stuff for you like seals/tensioners. at 116k they should be more than fine though.
