Hey guys,

I replaced the dash lights with LEDs in my 97 RL yesterday (thanks to 97_RLer for the great instructions and info on where to buy them). I put all of the screws back in their respective places, however every gauge works now except the speedometer. Do you guys have any idea why it may not be working? Do the screws need to be tightened to a certain tightness? (I screwed them in thoroughly but not so hard as to damage the panel).

I would think that if the screws were flip flopped or screwed in the wrong place, more than one gauge would not be working. Any help would be appreciated and I will post pics soon. Thanks.

If all the crews were put back inn the right place I think you might have overtightened one of the screws and broken a contact on the speedo.

Double check they are in the correct place and not to loose. If everything seems ok you might need a new cluster

sorry to say,u need a new cluster ...the same thing happened to me.not a good idea messing with the speedo. the dealer wants 1200.00 for a new one....found one at a junkyard for 145.00..good luck
