I have a 1997 RL 3.5 and have had some shaking only when I accelerate. It kind of started about 1.5 months ago. I'm in school right now and don't really have too much time or $ to get things fixed. It was given to us by my father-in-law. Supposedly he had been having it regularly serviced. But it only shakes and hesitates to increase speed when I am trying to accelerate, such as getting on the interstate. Starting to get real annoying and I hope its not expensive.

Just wanted to know if anyone could give me some advice since I have a few hours to spare tomorrow (11/8/13).

There are a few things you can do:
check spark plugs, air filter etc. Also may want to find out if the EGR valve and pipe have ever been cleaned. If not, it's a pretty good project to do. Some other things to consider fuel type, cleaning fuel injectors
