Fuel Filter?

I can't find any referrence to the fuel filter, location or change interval on my '04 RL. Anyone know where it is and when I'm to change it?

I really like the way this thing is put together. I changed the transmission fluid. Gee there's a drain bolt. I changed the diffenential fluid, gee there's a drain bolt. I changed the coolent, gee there's a drain plug on the engine block. It looks like they may actually want you to be able to maintain this thing.
I also need to find if there are any lubrication zerk fittings anywhere.

Why are you changing these fluids so early ? I mean the tranny fluid is not recommended till 60,000 miles ! How many miles do you have ? Remember this car is bullet proof and built with 1990 Legend technology ! Simple 4 speed tranny that doesn't require changing every 10K miles like the new 5 speed compact time bomb trannies !

I change everything when I don't know how it was maintained

I bought this car used....one owner and it's an Acura certified car. It has about 40,000 on it but I have no idea how the prevous owner drove, maintained or did anything to it. The car looks really good but lets face it. You can make any car look good after you detail it. The dealer at the full warranty to 100,000 miles so I'm good till then but I want to keep this car a lon, LONG time. I like it that much.
I feel better of I know EXACTLY what was changed, what it was changed with and when. The cost of a few gallons of lubricants and coolent pays for my peace of mind.

I think I found the fuel filter.. It looks like it's on the firewall. They cost about $30.00...again, I don't know what kind of gas the previous owner used, or if they continuously ran it down to almost empty.

I would have done the same as you NEVER know how the car was treated ! Peace of mind is my preaching too ! I've only had to change the oil and rotate the tires as I only have 10,000 plus miles year to date......Bought it brand spanking June 19, 2004 !

Yes, its close to the firewall.

You can try looking in the 1st gen TL forum under the 3.2 engine, its almost identical to the C35 motor in the RL.

My dealer said this was a lifetime item and they have never sold one. That seems a little screwy to me.

When do i change this? 30k? That's normally when i do it.

Yeah, I do it every few years so 30K sounds about right.

They told me it's a $27 part. It is very easy to access.

I couldn't believe that the parts guy at the delaer said those things are never replaced unless damaged. I told that is very odd. I know that the tsx has it's filter in the tank. Or some sort of filter since it's in there.
