does any1 know of an exhaust with a deep throaty sound. it doest have to be a full system maybe just the rite muffler. ive only built old school GM cars untill now. im doing a full build on my 96 RL and ill be damned if i spend $ on exhaust to have it sound like a civic hatch.....

 

Do a catback exhaust system and it'll definitely be worth your money and not sound like a civic but like if it had a turbo or something.

 

The RL has a pretty good exhaust, (not manifolds though) up until the rear pass tire. There it goes from about a 2-1/2" to 2-1/4".

now believe it or not some parts from the 91-95 Acura Legends fit. The rear part of the exhaust is almost identical to the RL. Now you might need to move a hanger or 2 or possibly lengthen or shorten the tubing slightly.


look for a Stromung or Remus for a Legend. They replace the rear section that is only 2-1/4 to 2-1/2 with a quality mufler. I think there was a sale for the Stromung for about 500.

if you have the right people or know how to d this yourself then simply build a good 2-1/2" mandrel exhast from the rear tire with a decent muffler that has good sound deadening. The bigger the can the better the sound. Stay away from the 6-8 round mufflers if you an.
