Today's paints do not discolor or fade under a bra. With proper care, the paint under a nose mask will wear better then the rest of the car. I've had a mask on my 2000 RL since it was new. I take it off once or twice a year to wax the front end and vacuum the inside of the ‘bra’. My RL is black, thus the black leather nose mask doesn’t look obtrusive, and it certainly doesn’t look ‘ghetto’. As a matter of fact, the car looks kind of plain without it.
If you are going to spend $40K-$50K for a vehicle such as an RL, a nose mask makes perfect sense.
