Brakes and More

I was wondering if the brakes and rotors from a 2001 RL would bolt up on a 1998 RL. A friend of mine replaced his with drilled and slotted rotors he also added ceramic pads. I had installed the pads on my 1998 not realizing the difference until I heard a horrible grinding. Verified that his OEM rotors were way bigger and the pads slightly different. In the end I went to Autozone and purchased a new set of 1998 pads in the meanwhile. Has anyone else upgraded and if so with what. I really would like to use his hardware.

I imagne that the components should bolt up just fine. I wouldnt put drilled and slotted rotor on your car though. Many of these "performance" rotors are cheaply made and will crack and warp much sooner than a premium OEM replacement from say NAPA.

So the drilled and slotted rotors don't do anything but look good? I suppose I will go with the bigger pads and rotors from his 2002. Can I used his wheels and tires also?
