99 vs 04 RL

Hey guys, i love this site and am a huge fan of Acura. I've owned a 97' TL and presently 05' TL.

Im looking to purchase an old RL. Love the first gen, especially since their made in Japan, the drive is amazing on these cars. They don't have the same smooth feel on new cars anymore so i was wondering if there was much of a difference in the 'feel' of the drive between the 99 vs 04 RL's? At first i was going to get 99 but then saw the interior upgrade of 04 model. But i assume 90s models are alot smoother, since I've never driven the 04, was wondering if you guys can share experiences.

Thanks

Best year would be a 95'!

04 is the last year 1 st generation rl, 02 to 04 offer tighter suspension, 225 hp engine tune, different face and rear.

Besides a 95, a 02 to 04 is a good choice.

For sure go for 02-04. The suspension upgrade in the 02 makes the car feel more sporty and is able to take corners at a faster speed. Also extra HP + Tq.

But keep in mind ...... its FAR from a Sport Sedan......It is a Luxury 4 door SEDAN marketed to 50+ year olds and that's it.....

The 02 - 04 makes a great daily driver. Best deal for a used car. Its not a sporty car, but driving normal keeps you safe.

The only downside is aftermarket sucks and no mp3 bluetooth hookup from factory.

The car basically only needs dark tint and rims to make it special.

Yes exactly, i like the car for what it is. Those that want to turn it into a sport ride, look for TL/TSX.

I don't look to drive the car rough at all, i enjoy the smooth drive. Just wanted to know if the feel of 99 is better then 02-04.

02-04 suspension wise, firmer ride over the 99. For comparison, the 95' mercedes e320 offers that same firm ride, the rl is like a copy cat of the 95' e320.

so , not firm like a sports car, but more like luxo-touring sedan.

Ive been in both, the 99 feels like a cloud but the 02+still feels smooth and more responsive imo.
