Exclamation looking to buy 06 RL... any advice will help!!

hey guys, I'm looking to buy this 2006 RL... i use to have a 2001 TL and i loved it... it was a very good car.... now i want to buy this RL!

2006 Acura RL

basically, it has 156k miles and its a 2006, grey... he says it has had 2 owners and the motor and trans are in good condition....all of the info and pics are in the link above... what do you guys think? is the price too good to be true? i have talked the guy down to $5,000!

also, when i go see it in person, is there anything i should look for mechanically or electronically wise?

please give me some input, it would be greatly appreciated... i do not want to buy a bad RL!

i forgot to type up that the guy told me that the arm rest is kind of worn, has a rip in it.. so i have to replace that... he also told me it has a few scratches on the body but nothing major that i will be able to buff them out... also, the trimming on the rear bumper has a rip in it so i also have to replace that... you can see it in one of the pics, it is under the right rear tail light.

Check the door handles. Make sure the A/C works. Listen for a whine at 40 mph. Find out when the timing belt was replaced. Then, of course, there is the standard used car check list.

do you think the price is too low for this car? i have talked to a few people and they told me something has to be wrong with the car for it to be this low of a price.

I don't think so. It has high miles and is 10 years old. It is almost impossible to get a bank loan for that so only a cash buyer can get it.

Is he a dealer? I ask cuz in one pic hes filling up car and no plate on car its in rear window and all mangled in another pic its on rear and in the pic. Looks like a flipper move to me.

Why is he selling? Look at history get records check motor mounts too.

I love the itll buff out line...cracks me up. Such a dealer line! And by the way thats not carbon grey pearl and thats about right price as a individual seller.

You need a very through inspection and test drive before proceeding. I think it's a 50/50 shot. Don't get attached and be prepared to walk.

He's a dealer, he has a carfax acct...demand that before you waste any more time. Never ever buy a car from a dealer or buy here pay here lot unless you run a carfax beforehand. Also, this is a new York car (hurricane Sandy 2012, totaled thousands of cars) and is probably eaten up with rust underneath. You would be wise to inspect underneath the car while it's on a lift to see how bad it is.

Like I said in my post shady...I couldnt run as my carfax ran out but thats what I was going to verify and why I asked if he was a dealer/flipper. My suspicion was verified by OP and confirmed by you. PASS!
