98 RL Diagnostic Codes - where to get a list

Can someone tell me where I can get a listing of the diag error codes for a 98 RL ? The Check Engine light has come on after 130k miles and reseting the battery only removes it for about 10 seconds and it comes back on. Thecar still runs great and mileage is still good. Thanks in advance for your help !!! This forum is the BEST and has bailed me out numerous times already.

you should be able to have the codes pulled at autozone (or any parts place with an OBD-II scanner). and any OBD-II codes list should work. there's nothing acura specific, the code numbers are standard across all makes. once you have the code we can give more advice.

btw my guess would be its the pesky egr code.

I am not sure if it applies to the 98rl, I have a 97 and the only thing they might not be able to read with their computer are abs/tcs codes. For that most of the time is either dealer or using a paperclip to jump the 2pin socket thats near under the glove compartment. They have a special tool to jump them but from what I understand is that it's not sold for consumer use

This is an edit to last post, I would check auto zone, only thing other places have issue checking are tcs/abs light.

I would check this out.

technically says Honda/Acura extended emission coverage on some older models mostly 97s, but I am not sure if later on the 98s were added. All I know is I got a 97 and my engine check light ended up being a dirty egr valve and they covered it, not sure about 98 model thou.

Ironically it was around 130k that my engine light went off and was the egr valve.

I have an OBD tester that came with a CD that explains the codes. Do you already know the code or are you looking to find out why the CEL came on? Pep Boys or Autozone will usually give you the code off an CEL. I bought the OBD tool ($95) as I have 4 cars with a lot of miles on them...
