So my engine is all bad and im gonna swap it with a new one. Has anybody ever done this before if so do you have a thread about it or do you have the steps and tips you can show me thanks!

 

i think you're confused my friend ... the 96 rl comes standard with a 3.5 v6. the only swap i know of is swapping the rl's 3.5 into a 91-95 acura legend.

 

I think he want to replace his engine because he said it was bad. I need to know this as well, Plan to get the engine replace.

 

What's crackin'? I replaced the engine in 96 RL with a 3.5L JDM/ tranny. Engine/tranny had 75K miles. I found a supplier online. My friend and I did the R&R in his shop. Car runs like new. If you do this make sure engine mounts are in good shape. I had to replace one. Make sure you mark the wire harness and vacuum hoses. Suppliers tell you to use your wire harness on their engine if the harness is good.

 

Did you used an engine from the same year range 96-98? Or did you used from 99+, if so did you have to use a ECU from 99+ as well? Thx.

 

Quite sure '96 - '04 is all the same. The difference is the exhaust system which has variable flow.

 

I used engine# C35A1 & trans# M5DA. I R&R'ed engine/trans/differential. No ECU changeout.
