I've been scouring the web and this forum now for sometime looking for an answer I can't seem to find

I have a 2004 Acura RL with the original Navigation/XM Radio/6 Disc in dash CD Changer. Every website I find for adapters to hook up an Ipod don't list the 2004 as an option.

I'd really like to avoid the FM modulator (as I've read the problems the rest of you have had with them!), and i'd like to use the Ipod 30 pin connector at the bottom so I can get the charge at the same time (and hopefully keep some control of the ipod with the head unit).

Any one successfully done this with the '04? Any suggestions?

 

I'm in the same boat with you bro, I cant seem to find any mods for my 04' RL too. I wanted to hook up a back up camera and iPod connecetion but the rl's with navi are much harder. I saw in another thread some guy cut the wires and joined them. He said everything is the same but the connectors but i dont want to do that. Good luck.

 

The tape deck works very well for audio. Though, this will not charge it.

 

I believe the 04 TL xm iPod adapters will work. I believe they use the same plug. I would double check the forums for pics to Croft plugs are indeed the same it maybe purchase from someplace that will allow for returns.

As far as the backup can that is very simple and video adapter boxes are plentiful. Again I believe they use the same box as 04 tl and mdx.

I added a parrot bluetooth to mine. Works great, phone, pandora, netflix all comes in via bluetooth. also has an ipod direct connection that I never use but works very very well.
