If a 2004 is your dream car, and you are in the position to buy, you need to surf Craigslist in Seattle, Washington.
There are 2 great low-mileage listings, both with clean titles:

-An Acura dealer has a pearl/beige one w/ 55k original miles.
-A private owner has a slate/charcoal one with 33k original miles!!

Both are priced at or a little above NADA, but they haven't sold for a month, so negotiation could be an option. I would, but I am not in a position to buy right now.

Yea... It's odd that you didn't share links so that members can see these cars because the 04 1st gen RL is the best year as its the 1st Year it got XM RADIO and Tech pkg. The navi previous didn't offer voice recognition.

 

I'm in Seattle and I see the ads for these two cars... The reason they are not selling is that they are priced too high. At the prices they are asking for, you can get the 2005 and up second gen RL with SH-AWD. While I do think the 2004 RL is a very nice vehicle, it is dated compared to the 2005+.

 

They may be dated in your humble opinion but they are bullet proof (reliable) with no issues like the 05, 06++++....and apparently the dealership knows this as well.....

Telling you to look at a certain Craigslist is not SPAM or suspicious. I didn't include the links because I didn't know how much longer they would be there. Please don't jump to flag people.
The private one is gone but may re-list again. As for price, you are correct and I mentioned that in my original post. The dealer is smoking, but I am sure you could haggle the heck out of that thing.
I agree with FABVSIX. I would much rather have a cherry 04 over an 05 or 06. tested and proven technologies.....and better LOOKS, but that is an opinion.

Look at Consumers Reports with regards to ALL of the 1st gen RL's and the 04 has all SOLID RED DOTS (solid dots being trouble free).....
