I have an '02 RL that runs fine for about 5 minutes and then just dies for no reason. It will crank back up but acts like it's choking out. After about 7-9 starts, it runs fine for awhile longer and repeat. Any suggestions?

What is the maintenance like?

common problem with 1st generation RLs. I had the same problem on my 2000 RL. Replaced the Main Relay and all is well.

I think i fugured it out...cleaned the IACV and it hasn't missed a beat in a week. Thanks for the post.

 

If it starts dying again it's probably the fuel relay switch under the dash. It costs about $80-$90 and takes 5 minutes or less to change. Common problem.
