DIY shock and strut replacement?

I have an 07 RDX. Looking at replacing the original shocks and struts. Quoted $885 labor and parts locally. Looking at it in the FSM, it doesn't seem too daunting. Anyone done this themselves? Words of wisdom? Warnings?

yikes.. sounds like an anal raping with no lube to me =) fronts are alittle harder then the rear.. lucky for you you arent doing the rear springs or i would have to write a huge book on how much of a pain it is cause you have to get an alignment afterwords.. anywho

i can try and get a few pictures tonight and do a dry write up i think someone on here did one though for the spring install...

Side note i am selling my rear shocks that are still good only 35K miles on them when i took them off.. ill let them both go for 60$ + paypal fees and shipping

IMHO the struts they put on today's cars are only good for 35K anyhow. Acura would argue with me.....
I plan on beating the shit out of mine until they start leaking all over the garage floor. I should just lease the cars I buy, but alas, I'm too damn cheap.

Food for thought. Since I'll be stuck with this ride till it turns ten-years-old.
