Weird interior light issue - problem and solution
Greetings, just sharing a problem I experienced and how I solved it. I didn't see to many forum posts anywhere (even other Honda/Acura forums) detailing this problem and it's weird set of symptoms, but I figure I'm not the first one to deal with it.
Description: some of the interior lights would not respond to the headlights turning on. Specifically, it was the blue ambient lights located next to the garage door opener buttons, and the radio/HVAC button lights. Additionally, the brightness of the screen for the radio/HVAC (non-tech model) didn't dim when the headlights turned on, as if parts of the car didn't "know" that they should be in night mode.
The lights for the instrument cluster still responded appropriately with the darker brightness setting.
The issue was simply a bad #14 fuse on the under-dash fuse box located next to the OBD II port. It's a little 7.5 amp fuse labeled SMALL INTR. As soon as this was replaced, the lights resumed normal operation.
Hope this helps someone else with the same issue. I imagine other Hondas and Acuras work similarly.

When you mean certain interior lights, is it individual buttons, or was it like entire sections (i.e. all buttons in the right or left HVAC control cluster)?
I have some lights in the buttons in my non-tech model that don't turn on at all, but I was assuming that it was just the lights burning out haha. I'll have to check out the fuse tmr when I get the chance.
And thank you for the insight! It's useful to keep in the back pocket just in case
