In need of some assistance. I have a 2007 Acura Awd Rdx Technology Package. So the problem is that the trunk wont open. I replaced the Actuator, installed new trunk harness, but still ain't receiving any signal for it to unlock. Checked all fuses which are all good. When I open it manually from inside the trunk panel. The indicator for trunk doesn't even show that it's open.

 

Does the 2007 RDX have a valet switch in the glovebox?

 

To my knowledge I checked to see if there was any switches all over even in the glove box and came out empty with no switches nor buttons.

 

Have you checked if you're getting power to the actuator? Sounds like a wiring issue from the trunk to the rest of the vehicle.

 

Yea we did my brother and I decided to look into the harness more that's in the interior roof of the car which connects to the trunk harness and found that a couple wires seemed to have corrosion and burnt off seems to be either water damage or a possible leak from the windshield washer fluid. So I bought and repair harness kit to try and fix the problem to see if works.

 

So my brother and I checked the interior wire harness which connects to the trunk harness and found 2 wires that were rusted and melted off. So we just used some small pin to get into the harness and pushed out the left over wire with connector that was still in the harness. We stripped another wire from the old harness we had that also had the same connector and combined the good parts of the wires and slid the connector back into its hole. It fixed the problem and trunk now opens and gets power to the Actuator.
