Sideview mirror possessed, going nuts

I am hoping some of you guys here have encountered this annoying issue and will be kind enough to share your solution.

My side mirror on my 2009 RDX is tilting randomly all the time. I moved the adjustment button to R L and Middle but nothing helps. I like to just disable the tilting all together if possible but neither the manual nor google seem to have a solution for this.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

bad mirror actuator, its common since the mirror tilts down in reverse. Replace the mirror motor and all should be good:

part no 5/6 depending on which side

I had the same problem had to change the mirror acuator as mentioned. I also had to change the memory function. I hope that’s not the case for you...

CSmoney28, my passenger side window tilts down on reverse, but does not tilt back to memory. Will I need to replace the mirror actuator? What is and how do I change the memory function? Please let me know. TIA!

2008 RDX Passenger side mirror actuator has been sticking so bought a new one. Now, it only goes in one direction. I tried the old actuator and the same. Switch works for drives side, so it’s not that. Any ideas??

thanks

Same

I replaced the actuator on my 2014 RDX and was so proud of myself. When it was all said and done, it only went up and down, not in and out. Did you figure out your problem and can share with me your solution? Maybe I put the 4 prong wiring in backwards?

I did not. Actually, I broke the stupid glass while trying to put it back together. We rarely use that mirror, so I just gave up.

SOLUTION is a Simple 2 second fix!

My daughter's right side mirror would not return to the memory position. It would point at the sky every time you unlocked the doors and got in the car. Both memory 1 and 2. I started looking for a way to cut the wire or pull a fuse to keep it in the same position all the time. Then I pulled out the trusty MANUAL!

If you hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the remote fob for 2 seconds it turns off the memory feature from the remote little light flashes on the remote. It still works from the door controls. So since she is the only driver, once she sets the seat and mirrors, she doesn't need it moving every time she unlocks the door. I have her car this week to get new tires. It was driving me crazy to get in move the seat, move the mirrors so I could drive. Now they stay where I put them. Seat memory is a great feature when 2 people share a car but not if the right side mirror is going to point at the sky every time you unlock the door!
