2007 RDX, from a few weeks noticed sometimes when pulling the shift knob from parking to D, the D didn't showed on the instrument panel, until I moved a little the knob back and forth, if I move the SUV without the D light showing, a transmission warning came out, it was just once in a while, so I learn to check if the R, D or P light came out when shifting the knob to their positions, a couple of days ago, moe often the D or the P light didn't showed, AND even in P, couldn't remove the ignition key after turning off the engine, I turned It on again a couple of times until the key was released, happened a couple of times today, some guy told me the shift knob mechanism needs adjust, seems as it uses a cable to transmit the shifting positions to the tranny. Surfed thru the forum and couldn't find any info or anyone with the same problem.

 

Sorry, I should write "Shifting Problems or Shift Knob malfunction " on the subject; I forgot to mention also when the Shift Knob is in the Dnposition but it doesn't lock in the exact place or slot the D light blinks, and sometimes when shifting to P, the light doesn't come on, and the key is not released.

 

Update: the mechanic came 5 days ago, cleaned and lubricated the shifting mechanism on the transmission's end, ( he washed the engine area first) and the key didn't get stucked anymore, the slight play on the shift knob position keeps but seems as it doesn't interfere with the shifting, once in a while when shifting to D, the green indicator on the meter panel didn't show, so I just rock lightly the knob and it come on; the mechanic told me if the problems show, he would replace the Gama Sensor on the tranny's end.
But the D, R or P indicator lights comes on every time today. Seems as cleaning and lubricating worked!
Anyway I should replace the battery at Costco the very next day he did the job, a coincidence I know.
