SH-AWD, ABS, and VSA Lights on

I bought this car after a front end collision. Looks like it hit a deer and then the curb or something. I thought I'd fix it and have a sweet little ride at a discount price.
I thought I had it all fixed but the other night my wife pulled it in to the garage. All three lights lit up. I took it down to a local shop with a scanner and here's the codes I got:
Thsi is exactly how they read on the display of that shop's snap-on scanner.
138-01 brake pedal position switch stuck off (software)
77-2 the functional abnormalities of the vsa control unit
16-3 steering angle sensor neutral position incorrect

I took off the brake pedal position switch and it seems to be good. I don't know what the pinouts are but there are 4 terminals inside it. when the button is depressed, 3 of them have connectivity and when it's realeased the other two have connectivy. I pressed it a few times to clear any crud and put it back in but it didin't shut off the ABS light.
I haven't tackled the SAS because the procedure I found tells me I need to be reading it with an HDS while I repair it. (Can anybody recommend a good inexpensive HDS?)
Finally the 77-2 I am HOPING that one of y'all will just tell me that it's not working because of the other two codes and when they are fixed that will be too. otherwise it looks like a VSA ECU replacement?
and will I need to have the ABS software re-flashed by a dealer?
