when I turn the ignition to on, the only message I get is the service due B1 and the mileage I am over. I cannot get to any other screen in the display no matter what combination I press for buttons????

You have to hold the button that is between the <> for about 10 seconds. If you do, you'll get the screen that says reset. All you need to do is scroll to reset and hit the middle button again.

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON

2. Select Trip A or Trip B (You can use either one, so if you are using one to record data for something, use the other one to reset the Oil Life Indicator).

3. Press the < or > button repeatedly until the oil life is displayed.

4. Press and hold the Select/Reset button for 10 seconds. The Multi-Information Display will ask for a confirmation.

•a. If you are sure you want to reset the display, press the Select/Reset button for 10 seconds again. (This is the part omitted from the manual.)

•b. If you do not want to reset the display, press the < or > button to select "Cancel"

I think the oil indicator should be showing first before you could reset it

You should be able to toggle through using the Select/Reset button as well to move from the A and B trip odometer to the oil life display.

I've found in the past that if a warning is displayed, I've had to press the Select/Reset button a couple of time to get past the "nag screen", and then can cycle through A, B and Oil life.

EDIT: Might be the < button you need to push multiple times...
