Roof Flexing

Does anyones elses roof flex when you put one window down? It was awful. It sounded like the car was going to fall apart. When another window is opened, its fine. Is there any kind of recall on that or anything?

I don't know if this is what you call roof flexing, but I do suspect they screwed up with some of the wind tunnel testing on this thing. When I drive with just the drivers window all the way open, I get low frequency air pressure oscillations between 50 and 60 mph. I'm pretty confident that it's the 'blowing over a jug effect' - and it drives my ears crazy. Closing the window partially eliminates the sound. I had the same problem with my F150 Supercrew sunroof - which turned out to be a real design flaw. The air deflector simply didn't pop up high enough. I'm considering some wind deflectors for the side windows on my RDX to eleviate this.

Seems strange that the Acura team would miss this.

I had a '04 Accord before the RDX and would have the same problem. I have just learned to crack the rear window a little when I have the driver's window down. It seems to give the air a place to escape once it enters the vehicle.

Never heard it described as "roof flexing" but I know what you are talking about. Happens on many vehicles at different speeds. Its what happens when air wants to come in the vehicle and it has nowhere to go. I'm just glad I have power windows and I can put another window down easily!

Well get someone to drive your RDX while you are in the back seat. Have them get on the interstate and roll the drivers side window down and only the drivers side. Look at the roof.............maybe that will give you an idea of the "roof flexing"
