Question Right Headlight Flickering

Hi All,

Recently purchased 07 RDX non tech and loving it other than gas mileage.
Question is, the right headlight flickers from time to time when turned on.
Safe to say its the ballast going?

Thanks in advance.

it could be the igniter, ballast, or bulb!

easiest way to trouble shoot would be to swap Left bulb with Right bulb to see if problem follows.
then continue to trouble shoot with ballast and igniter, by swapping sides to see if problem follows.

Sure, this is the usual advice - but it requires removal of the front bumper on the RDX, as well as both headlights, in order to do the swaps - and the reinstallation of the headlights for testing.

And swapping the igniter is not an easy task, because the wire between the igniter and ballast runs INSIDE the headlight shell, within a very narrow passage. It took me an hour to fish it (ignitor and attached wire loom) out of a broken headlight, and into a new shell.

So if anyone has an *easy* suggestion for testing headlight components, then I am also interested.

Well, I was thinking more like some diagnostic tool, because I cannot believe that the dealer is going to disassemble and swap parts, in order to test the headlight parts - but perhaps when user Ayu688 reports back with a dealer diagnostic for his problem, we will know how the dealer decides which part is faulty. Guess I need to actually read the FSM diagnostic flow diagram.
