Replacing front windshield - stupid bird dropped pebble and cracked it

Got a "nice" 1 inch crack on the windshield from a pebble dropped by a bird. Will be replacing it with original Acura windshield this weekend. Insurance covering most of it (minus a small deductible).

Anyone else had to deal with this as well?

I have a crack but I have never gotten it fix. I have the worst luck with windshields. I managed to get a crack in every car I've owned. I had my RDX for a month before a huge rock hit it.

Yeah......I did about a hlaf inch crack. I have Gieco it was covered in full by them or maybe by Florida law no cost.

I also waited to get the original winshield from Acura and I inspected it with the one that was removed. all went well.

There is not such thing as tailing in DC. I was far enough away because it was a small car that kicked up the rock.

yep I've had similar luck, got a chip no more than 2 months after I got my RDX. I haven't gotten it fixed yet, but that's more a factor of lack of time than anything else. I'm pretty sure that a glass deductible (usually next to nothing) is different than collision because glass is considered part of your comprehensive coverage by your insurance.

I got a crack in the first month from a rock. They wanted to replace it with generic glass and I said no effin way. I want acura stamped on that glass, not autolite.... They happily complied.

If it is really a crack in the glass, and not just a chip, why would you not fix it? It could eventually lead to a nice long crack.
